Next month's Lighting Live 25 – Local Authority in Daventry will focus on procurement, PFI expiry, and highway lighting. The event, held for its third year, will feature an expert panel discussion on the Procurement Act 2023 and its implications for the industry.

The event will also feature a keynote CPD presentation on PFI expiry by Neil Sennett from Amey and Katie Moreton from Walsall Council. Neil and Katie will discuss Amey's partnership with Walsall, where the public lighting PFI will end in 2028.

George Bailey of Kiwa CMT will examine the importance of data collection and testing services before the PFI hand-back process. He will emphasize the need to 'know your assets' and their condition to ensure compliance before PFI expiry and highlight findings from major projects.

Highway lighting updates will be discussed in a three-handed presentation by WSP's Allan Howard, Stephen Dennis of National Highways, and Chris Bolt from Arup. The new Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCHW) road lighting requirements will be reviewed and updated to be published early next financial year. The MCHW is evolving to become an equipment and system performance specification, driven by the changes coming in via the Procurement Act 2023.

ILP Lighting Live 25 - Local Authority CPD event and exhibition takes place on Thursday, February 6, from 10am to 4.30pm. Registration opens at 9am.
