Tutor Profile
After a year in consultancy with Jacobs Babtie, Guy joined Woodhouse (Now Marshalls) as Lighting Development Manager in 2006, developing specialist decorative luminaires. Guy has also written and presented many RIBA accredited CPD sessions for clients. Joining Sill Lighting in 2016 as Technical Manager, Guy gained experience in architectural lighting and gained extensive knowledge of RELUX software for façade and sports lighting.
Guy joined Designs for Lighting in 2020 and spent two years as Design Manager before being appointed Technical Manager at the ILP in 2022. Guy has appeared as an expert witness in a design rights case at the Patents County Court and also holds two patents in lighting. He has served as both Vice President Membership and Vice President Engineering Council for the ILP and is a membership assessor and chair of the Membership Committee. He has lectured on the ELD for over 25 years and has presented papers at the ILP conference and at regional events.
Guy has also served on the Executive Board as Assistant Honorary Treasurer. More recently Guy gave in-person evidence to House of Lords Science and Technology Committee on Light pollution in the UK.
