‘Towards A Dark Sky Standard’ is a brand new resource that encourages good lighting decision making before the installation or planning process.
It is not overly technical and has been designed to cater for non-professional, professionals, domestic and non-domestic users regardless of the proximity to a dark sky landscape. There are sections on internal and external lighting. If you already have planning guidance, then this document will help point towards it.
This document has been created as a result of the UK Dark Skies Partnership, a group the ILP is proud to be part of. We encourage you to share this document with everyone you think can benefit from reading it.
