The ILP AGM took place in Bristol and online on 21 June.

The meeting included approval, by Ordinary Resolution, to suspend the transition of Executive Board roles (as defined in article 32 of the Institution’s Articles of Association) and reappointment of the current Honorary Treasurers, Junior Vice President, Senior Vice President, President and Immediate Past President as the 2022-2023 Executive Board. These were confirmed as follows:

President – Fiona Horgan
Senior Vice President – Rebecca Hatch
Immediate Past President – Anthony Smith
Honorary Treasurer – James Duffin
Honorary Treasurer – John Sutcliffe
Junior Vice President – Perry Hazell

The meeting also provided an opportunity to thank and congratulate two ILP members for exceptional service to the Institution and profession.  Nick Smith and Peter Harrison were the recipients of Special Recognition Awards.

In her Presidential Address, Fiona Horgan talked about the ILP’s future, thanked the members, supporters, volunteers, staff and her employer. She explained the way we will all remain engaged and connected: We are stronger together and the more diverse our volunteer pool, the better we can become. We need you and your expertise and specialisms for your Institution. The strength of the Institution, the opportunities it provides, allows its members to make connections and improve their knowledge through CPD.

She concluded by emphasising the importance of being the change you want to see: We need volunteers; and your ILP needs you. All our existing volunteers and the staff at Rugby are here to help you if you would like to get involved. This is our call to action today – we need you to deliver the roadmap; we need new people.
