It is my pleasure to welcome you to the ILP Lighting Live Annual Conference 2026, taking place on 17–18 June 2026 at Millennium Point in Birmingham.
As the flagship event in the ILP calendar, Lighting Live Annual Conference brings together lighting professionals, industry leaders, innovators and emerging talent for two days of learning, collaboration and networking.
This year's theme, Innovation, is reflected throughout a diverse programme of technical papers, case studies and discussions exploring the technologies, ideas and approaches shaping the future of lighting. From smart and adaptive lighting, connected infrastructure and interoperability, to sustainability, policy, skills development and asset management, delegates can look forward to a broad range of sessions addressing both current challenges and future opportunities.
A particular highlight of this year's conference is our keynote panel discussion, Shaping the Future of Smart Cities – Interoperability, Standards and Adaptive Technologies. Bringing together leading experts from across the industry, the session will explore how collaboration, open standards and intelligent lighting systems are helping to create smarter, safer and more sustainable communities.
Alongside the technical programme, delegates will have the opportunity to connect with colleagues, exhibitors and sponsors from across the profession. The exhibition will showcase the latest products, technologies and services, while dedicated networking opportunities will encourage the sharing of ideas, experiences and best practice.
Our Gala Dinner at the Library of Birmingham promises to be a memorable evening of celebration and entertainment. In addition to recognising excellence through the ILP Awards, guests can enjoy close-up magic, a casino table and a dedicated fan zone screening England's World Cup match against Croatia.
We are also proud to welcome students from local University Technical Colleges as part of our Pathways into Lighting STEM Session, helping to inspire the next generation of lighting professionals and showcasing the exciting career opportunities our industry offers.
The conference will once again celebrate the strength and diversity of our profession, with active involvement from Young Lighting Professionals and Women Lighting Professionals, whose perspectives play a vital role in shaping the future of lighting.
Whether you are attending as a delegate, speaker, exhibitor or sponsor, your involvement is integral to the success of 2026 Lighting Live Annual Conference. I look forward to welcoming you to Birmingham for what promises to be a stimulating, collaborative and forward-looking conference as we come together to advance the future of lighting.
