The Lighting Industry Association (LIA) and Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) have joined forces to introduce TM66 Assured Product verification scheme. This builds on CIBSE’s publication TM66 Creating a Circular Economy in the Lighting Industry and the Circular Economy Assessment Methods (CEAM) which offers practical guidance and tools enabling the lighting sector to adopt sustainable, circular practices.

Justin Blades, CEO of the ILP, stated that the ILP fully supports the initiative and that by adopting circular practices such as designing products for disassembly and implementing recycling programs, lighting companies can contribute to creating a circular economy where waste is minimized; or eliminated altogether.
