Atkins Website

Atkins is one of the world’s most respected design, engineering and project management consultancies. Atkins primarily works in the Transportation, Infrastructure, Energy, Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology sectors, supporting government bodies, local authorities and private companies in delivering their vision.

Atkins’ team of lighting specialists provide our clients with optimised sustainable solutions using the latest lighting design calculation software, to deliver schemes designed to reduce our client’s energy costs, carbon footprint and total cost of ownership.

With a highly competent national lighting team we can provide specialist input and advice to clients throughout the UK on a diverse range of projects. We have unrivalled experience in supporting local authorities as their technical advisor during the procurement of street lighting PFI’s. This experience means that we are ideally positioned to provide support as local authorities aim to reduce their carbon footprint, reduce their energy costs and provide a more reliable service through the introduction of Invest to Save initiatives.

Conducting lighting assessments, advising clients on planning requirements and developing compliant solutions for them is another service that we offer throughout the UK.

Our vast range of experience ensures that we are best placed to offer strategic advice, asset management, public realm concepts in addition to lighting design services across a diverse range of client requirements. In October 2018 Atkins were the first organisation in the UK to achieve the BSI Kitemark for BIM level 2.

Schemes where the Atkins lighting team have been involved include A14, Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route, Jeddah Airport, Heathrow landside asset management programme and London 2012 Olympic Park and legacy works.
