Opportunity to serve as an ILP Trustee

Jul 17, 2023 | Government & Policy, Important notices, Membership, Technical, Uncategorized

The role of Trustee is enjoyable, important and rewarding — offering the opportunity to help shape the direction of the Institution and deliver the ILP’s roadmap for the future – Strategy 2026. It also offers the chance to meet and work with people from different backgrounds, sectors and experiences within the lighting industry.

Our 8 Trustees hold overall legal responsibility for the charity. This is a hybrid voluntary role of online and in-person meetings throughout the year. As a Trustee, you can truly make a difference, and use your experiences to help support and grow the lighting profession. As a member of the ILP Board of Trustees, you will be joining an inclusive culture where healthy, respectful debate is part of the process.

We’re looking for candidates who fully support our charitable objectives. As a Trustee, you will also act as an ambassador for the ILP.

We seek people with the skills and experience to guide and challenge the strategic direction of a whole organisation and who are committed to reflecting the communities and society we serve.

We are looking for volunteers for the following Trustee roles:

Vice President – Membership, Qualifications & Registrations

This role takes the lead on overseeing the membership competencies, skills and experience requirements, qualifications, and associated assessment processes of the Institution on behalf of the Board of Trustees.

Vice President – Technical

This role takes the lead on overseeing the research, development, peer review and delivery of the Technical Knowledge Base of the Institution on behalf of the Board of Trustees.

Honorary Treasurer

This role takes the lead on ensuring the financial health and statutory financial reporting requirements of the Institution on behalf of the Board of Trustees.

If you’re interested in one of these roles and would like to apply or find out more, please contact our CEO, Justin Blades via justin@theilp.org.uk stating which of the roles you’re interested in.  The closing date for applications is 28th July.
