ILP How To Brilliant series continues with Liz West

Apr 20, 2021 | CPD, Events, Industry

Acclaimed artist Liz West is confirmed as the next speaker for How To Be Brilliant, the lighting industry’s only event series designed to attract students, interns, apprentices, and new entrants to the lighting profession.

Known for creating immersive environments that mix luminous colour and radiant light, Liz West’s work is an ongoing exploration of human colour perception and light fields, aiming to provoke a heightened sensory awareness in the viewer.

During the session, Liz will speak openly about her approach, innate interest and personal relationship to colours as well as her research into individual colour perception and colour theory.

Liz’s sophisticated and instinctive use of colour and light combined have led her to make many monumental and captivating artworks across the world. Liz will share her creative process and experiences behind the making of her works.

The ILP’s ‘How To Be Brilliant’ initiative connects the lighting community, giving junior members of the community a chance to connect with an inspiring expert in a way formal education cannot. The 2021 series of fun and friendly digital CPD events has been sponsored by BEGA, an ILP Premier member with a 70-year history of producing and developing architectural luminaires.

The session will be called How To Be Brilliant at Celebrating Colour and will take place online, on 10 May at 13.00 BST.
