The UK is urgently in need of an electric vehicle charging infrastructure, for three major reasons:
- The sale of diesel and petrol cars will be banned by 2030
- Major UK cities are already banning petrol and diesel cars in city centres to reduce pollution
- The Office for Low Emission Vehicles ambition is to have zero emissions on Britain’s roads by 2050
Every street lighting professional has a role to play, and the ILP has stepped up for those considering where to begin.
The Institution has launched a ‘Light, Seen’ CPD session to look at types of feeder pillars, types of electric chargers, and explain points to consider.
The technology behind this will be explored along with a real life case study based in Bristol, UK. This presentation will be of great relevance to electrical engineers, street lighting professionals and those with a role to play in net zero.
The online event takes place on 14 September and is free to attend.
