Light, Seen with ChargeLight: The game has changed with EV charging

12 July 2022 11:00 am - 11:30 am
Lamppost charging has entered the next generation

Your invitation to participate in Light, Seen – a camera on, interactive CPD showcase, held on Microsoft Teams

The game has changed: Lamppost charging has entered the next generation.

Lamppost charging is often misunderstood. This can be split into two distinct parts: (1) why on-street residential charging is urgently needed and a huge opportunity for the streetlighting sector, and (2) the technology itself and how it has evolved versus early versions.

Tom Pakenham, ChargeLight’s Managing Director, will explain the issue of charging provision for the majority of residents in towns and cities parking on-street, how building infrastructure will allow residents to make the switch to EVs, how lamppost charging is the cheapest form of public charging and how providing lamppost chargers is a vital public service that won’t cost the local authority a penny.

James Everley, ChargeLight’s Technical Director, will then run through the latest developments regarding the charging technology. This will include: how earthing regulations have changed, how nuisance tripping has been addressed, that equipment is no longer installed inside the column and that there are elegant solutions for back of footway columns. This will include an installation video which shows just how easy, straightforward and fast an installation can be.

Who should attend: Street lighting engineers, transport planners, environmental officers and policy makers will all benefit from attending this ILP webinar.

About the presenters:

James Everley, Technical Director, ChargeLight – James has been at the forefront of unmetered energy and the evolution of lamppost charging for the last seven years, working with local authorities all around the UK. Previously Ubitricity’s first employee in the UK, then at Joju, James has been in the lamppost charging since the beginning.

Tom Pakenham, Managing Director, ChargeLight – entrepreneur and former Director of Electric Vehicles at OVO Energy, Tom has worked in the emobility space for his entire career, covering transport, energy and built infrastructure.

This session is a mix of CPD, and company information brought to you in a collaboration between the ILP and Premier member, ChargeLight. Our Light, Seen initiative provides a connection whilst we couldn’t hold face to face exhibitions – so we politely remind our audience to refrain from discussing other companies during the session, just as you would on an exhibition stand.

Everyone is welcome, with your camera on and questions encouraged.

Places are limited – if you book and your plans change, please let us know so someone else can take your spot.
