Durham LDC have offered up the opportunity for a small number of Young Lighting Professionals to present a 15 minute paper, in a friendly, comfortable environment. No questions will be asked just shown appreciation for committing too and supporting LDC Durham.

Feasibility of Solar lighting Solutions in the UK
- This paper will discuss the viability of solar energy for public lighting and how they can reduce carbon emissions within urban environments in the UK. This draws upon research and investigations undertaken for a number of clients. The paper will briefly analyse what solar solutions are available at the moment, different considerations that may influence the feasibility of such technologies in urban environments and how this can be implemented within different areas of the UK.

- Tom and Ben will look to share with you why they chose lighting as a pathway and their experience of entering the lighting industry to date. The good, the bad and the future.

- An overview of the evolution of TII’s lighting standard and the key updates being made to the standard in 2023, including lighting of active travel routes and greenways on the national road network.
