How To Be Brilliant is the fun and friendly lighting event series organised by the Institution of Lighting Professionals in collaboration with BEGA. We are delighted to announce that we’ll be popping up in Clerkenwell Design Week thanks to our friends at arc media:
How To Be Brilliant: The Animal Kingdom
With Carolina Florian Head of Lighting UK, and Farhad Rahim Associate Director – Technical Lead at Buro Happold.
Does it bug you that lighting affects different species in so many conflicting ways? Considering the impact of lighting on animals could drive you batty, but help is at hand. Carolina and Farhad have squirrelled away many surprising facts and are literally becoming experts in the field. They have guided clients with motivations ranging from genuine ecological care to developers wanting to ‘get through planning’, and now they will share these experiences with you.
This talk is for all designers whatever your main discipline, as lighting affects every part of the world we are creating. Whether you are a full-time lighting professional, a ‘curious outsider’ or anything in between, flock down to the House of Detention for this turtley brilliant inspiring CPD talk. (Please note this venue does not have disabled access, due to the nature of this 19th Century underground building.)
All welcome afterwards at Optelma where you can network with Buro Happold ‘lighting heroes’ and badger them with your questions.
Hope you can make it – ALL welcome!
Talks are free to attend, and seating is allocated on a first come first serve basis – be sure to register for Clerkenwell Design Week at https://clerkenwelldesignweek-2023.reg.buzz/splash
The How To Be Brilliant series is brought to you by the Institution of Lighting Professionals in collaboration with BEGA. Their generous support means we never ever charge students, designers or ILP members to attend any of our series of sessions.
The talk is at 3pm in the House of Detention (we will email you explaining how to find this underground location) At the end of the talk we will walk with you round the corner to Optelma’s studio where you can ask questions, meet other people, meet the speakers, and the How To Be Brilliant team will be on hand to talk about anything lighting career related.
If it is your first time – or if you are nervous about coming along, for any reason, please get in touch with us and we can support you!
