BBC turns to ILP for advice on road lighting

Apr 27, 2021 | Industry

With public lighting and safety in the headlines, particularly when it comes to adaptive practices, the BBC recently turned to the ILP for expert guidance on this subject.

We have recently recommended a professional approach when considering switch off or dimming and given advice on splitting data between switch off and dimming to our members. We were pleased to be invited to share our knowledge with a public audience.

ILP member Professor Steve Fotios CEng MEI MILP was interviewed for the BBC’s Morning Live programme and the result was a balanced article featuring residents and experts which recognises the benefits of road lighting and the issues that must be considered.

If you have access to iPlayer, you can watch it here – the item starts at 10.50.

The ILP seeks to be as inclusive as possible, so if you have any concerns about applying for membership / attending our Exterior Lighting Diploma courses, LDC local events or our one-day courses for whatever reason please let us know and we will try to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that you can fully engage with the ILP.
