Dear Members,
On behalf of myself and the Executive Team, we look forward to welcoming you to the return of our in person and new hybrid AGM 2022, which is being held alongside the Professional Lighting Summit in Bristol. We call on all members to please support and attend the AGM.
Following Tracey White’s decision to step down from the role as Chief Executive, the resulting recruitment process that led to the appointment of Justin Blades and the concurrent need to stabilise a relative new board team to lead the institution on the path to a post-Covid pandemic new normal mode of operations, the current Executive Board, subject to the approval of an ordinary resolution at the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) will ask the wider membership to support a one-year temporary extension to their collective terms of office. This resolution is proposed in the AGM agenda and will outline the detailed reasons as above, in order to provide stable non-Executive leadership through this important transition phase. As a result, and assuming this ordinary resolution is approved, there is no subsequent requirement to appoint at this year’s AGM and the institution will reinstate the Call for Nominations process in 2023 with all eligible candidates for 2022 also rolling forward to 2023 for the application process. Anyone wishing further information on this prior to the AGM please contact CEO Justin Blades.
Alongside the AGM we look forward to introducing the new ILP Strategy Roadmap and call upon all members to come and support the future development of our institution. We very much look forward to sharing the plans with you and welcome all members to attend. Should you not be able to make it in person please do feedback via the hybrid systems we have in place. Alternatively, you can also feed your views in via LDCs, YLP, the VPs, the Executive Team or the staff at Rugby. Your institution needs you and your voice for a more sustainable lighting future.
Take care and stay safe.
Fiona Horgan
